About Us

Abacus Learning Center opened in Haile VIllage Center in September of 1994. Hollie Hicks, our Director has been in childcare since 2015. Antaniece Brown, our Assistant Director has 17 years of experience in early childhood education.

Experienced teachers

Our teachers have varying backgrounds; we have teachers who have, or are working on, a college degree in Elementary or Early Childhood Education, or a related field.

INFANT

Our infant program is dedicated to providing a warm, nurturing environment where your baby can feel safe, loved, and supported.

12+ MONTHS CLASSROOM

Our toddler classroom is for children who have reached the age of 18 months on or before September 1st and are able to walk.

TWO YEAR CLASSROOM

Our two year old classroom focuses on learning basic concepts of letters, numbers, colors, shapes, name recognition and more.

THREE YEAR CLASSROOM

The focus of our three year old classroom is working on skills needed to be successful in VPK. We work in small and large groups.

Our VPK classrooms follow the curriculum requirements set by the Early Learning Division of the Department of Education.

Free 3-Hour VPK Session

The program runs 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM and follows the Alachua County School District. The VPK only program is completely free.
